It’s pretty much the same here in the US (I live in New England). In the cities the restrictions are followed, pretty much nowhere else. I would estimate that a good 75% of Americans live as if covid doesn't exist. And the situation here is good because subsidiarity is practiced, at times almost to the absurd. The federal government basically makes only suggestions. Each state makes its own covid policy and then many states devolve most decisions to the county level. And then in my state, decisions have been further devolved to the town level, so each town makes its own rules about mask mandates and so forth. Strange times.
