Love all of this - I have a fascination with these psalters. I love the red penwork. The marginalia are amazing and make me laugh, as well as appreciate the artists even more. I guess so the one praying has a bit of comic relief from their serious praying? I was also deeply fascinated by the Utrecht Psalter that I found where it is housed.
